1. Compliance status
Partially compliant
The mealio.fr site is partially compliant with RGAA version 4.1. Non-compliances and exemptions are listed below.
A self-assessment of the compliance of the mealio.fr site with the French General Accessibility Improvement Framework (RGAA version 4.1) was carried out in March 2025 by the Mealio team. This framework comprises 106 criteria across 13 themes, covering all the requirements of the international WCAG 2.1 standard at level AA.
Based on this assessment, the overall compliance rate is estimated at approximately 62% of the applicable criteria. Improvement work is underway to reach a level of full compliance.
2. What is accessible
The following features and content meet the RGAA accessibility criteria:
- Consistent heading hierarchy (h1 → h6) across all pages of the site
- Full keyboard navigation, with visible focus indicators
- Color contrasts compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA ratios for regular text (4.5:1) and large text (3:1)
- <lang> attributes correctly set for French
- Alternative text present on all informative images
- Contact forms with explicit labels and descriptive error messages
- Links with descriptive labels allowing their destination to be understood out of context
- Content readable and operable with zoom up to 200% without loss of information or functionality
- No flashing content likely to cause photosensitive seizures
- HTML5 semantic structure (main, nav, header, footer, article, section) respected
3. Known non-compliances and limitations
The following items are not yet fully compliant with the RGAA criteria. Fixes are planned (see the action plan in section 7):
Time-based media (videos)
The promotional videos on certain pages do not yet have synchronized subtitles or a text transcript (RGAA criteria 4.1 and 4.3). Impact: deaf or hard-of-hearing users.
Rich interface components
Some interactive components (carousels, animated dropdown menus) do not correctly convey their role, state and value to assistive technologies (RGAA criteria 7.1 to 7.3). Impact: screen reader users.
Interactive maps
The embedded location maps are third-party components that are not fully accessible by keyboard and screen readers (RGAA criterion 7.3). A text alternative of the address is provided.
PDF documents
Some downloadable PDF documents (Terms of Service, partner terms) are not tagged for accessibility and are not correctly readable by screen readers (RGAA criterion 13.3). HTML versions of these documents will be provided.
Dynamic forms
On some multi-step forms, dynamic validation messages are not systematically announced to assistive technologies via aria-live regions (RGAA criterion 11.10).
